Unraveled Series Begins....

This summer, we’re diving into stories from the Bible where plans fell apart—and God showed up. There are lots of exciting ways that you can engage God's Word and fellowship with each other this summer.

This Sunday in worship I will share with you a summer Bible reading challenge called Scripture Stretch. You can download the infographic here if you'd like to read ahead. The Unraveled Journal will also be available for pickup.

Bible Study Update -

A huge thank you to everyone who completed the Bible study survey. I was delighted to see that 14 of you between St. Jacob and Holy Trinity felt ready to commit to weekly Bible study, and several others asked if it was okay if they could drop in when they could. Absolutely! Come whenever you can.

We will have two Bible study times - Mondays at 6 or Wednesdays at 10, both at Tremont Coffee on Erie Street. You do not need to buy coffee to attend the class. We will cover the same material in each class, so no need to come to both unless you are hoping to catch up with a friend. There is one caveat. If a Bible study time has less than 4 people in attendance two weeks in a row, I will cancel that session. As a "part time" pastor, your attendance lets me know how you would like me to spend my time serving our community.

See below for exciting ways you can make new friends between St. Jacob and Holy Trinity.

The second Saturday of every month, card lovers meet at St. Jacob for Euchre. This casual game is perfect for novices or experienced players. All participants are asked to bring a snack to share and $5 to go to charity.

The next two Euchre games are:

  • Saturday, June 14 from 5:30 - 9 pm
  • Saturday, July 13 from 5:30 - 9 pm

Sewing Group

Each Tuesday from 9 am - noon, crafters of all skill level meet at St. Jacob. In addition to making quilts for Lutheran World Relief, this group makes bears and quilts to send to the children at Victory Junction. Founded by racecar driver Richard Petty, Victory Junction helps support terminally ill children and their families live out their racing dreams. Every child who participates in a Victory Junction program receives a teddy bear and matching quilt to comfort them in their illness.

If you'd like to make bears or quilts, stop by St. Jacob. There are tasks for every skill level,
